About

Lea is an illustrator and painter, specializing in original artwork as well as pet portraits. She also makes earrings out of pistachio shells, as well as clay earrings.

For her original work, Lea uses a variety of mediums to create her original 'splatter' portraits, which pay homage to her favorite movie and book characters, as well as musicians whose music feeds her art practice.

As an animal and nature lover, Lea has recently been working on a colored pencil series of female portraits that are integrated with various moth and butterfly species that bare the 'eyespot markings.

Lea enjoys volunteering with animals, but hasn't had time in the last few years. Instead, she is creating portraits of the animals she has met while volunteering, selling the artworks, and donating 25% of each sale back to the Sanctuary. "It is so important for me to give back, and doing so through art is an excellent way to spread the sanctuary's message while also getting my art out there. It has been my dream for a long time to travel cross country and visit all the animal sanctuaries. I still hope to do this one day."
